CONFERENCE BEGINS!
CONFERENCE THEME:
YESTERDAY, TODAY AND TOMORROW
Do you want to help shape the conversation on the future of transport and access in Aotearoa?
This is your opportunity to share your ideas, strengthen our collective thinking, and support transport professionals to lead with curiosity, adaptability and purpose.
This conference embodies how transport and access have evolved, what we can learn from the past, and how we can keep an open mind as we navigate complex systems, shifting expectations, and changing physical and economic realities. We invite ideas, case studies and perspectives that speak to better outcomes over time — grounded in experience, attentive to context, and mindful of trade-offs and constraints— and that help us deliver transport systems that are resilient, safe, sustainable and people-focused.
But progress isn’t just about new ideas, it’s about learning from experience - where have results defied projections? Why? Are there tools and processes that no longer serve us? What past decisions have opened up opportunities for us now?
Across the motu, we are experiencing institutional and governance transitions, including the ongoing amalgamation of local governance arrangements. While presenting challenges for continuity of good processes, experience and relationships, these changes create opportunities to learn from the past and improve our mahi for the sectors, systems and communities we serve.
In a rapidly changing world, resilience remains a critical theme — not only in how we plan and build infrastructure, but also in the frameworks we use and the systems we design to adapt, respond and continue serving people well over time.
We welcome contributions that explore how we shape the future of transport and access: by reflecting on the past, responding to the challenges of today, and continuing to explore, innovate and improve for tomorrow.
