The following ‘people’s choice’ awards are decided by delegate votes:

  • Excellence award for best interactive presentation

  • Excellence award for best soapbox presentation

  • Excellence award for best learning cafe presentation

  • Excellence award for best presentation

The following awards are made by a panel of judges for peer-reviewed papers. The awards are focused on the technical content of the papers and are irrespective of presentation format:

  • The prestigious NZ Automobile Association awards for the best conference paper

  • Excellence award for best research paper sponsored by Sidra Solutions

  • Excellence award for best practice paper sponsored by NB Consulting

  • Excellence award for best think piece paper

  • Excellence award for best conference paper sponsored by Sidra Solutions

  • Excellence award for conference paper that most aligns with the theme

  • Excellence award for best paper by a young author sponsored by NB Consulting
    (solo author only, age under 30 years as at 1 March 2026)

  • Excellence award for best student paper
    (solo author only, studying full-time at a tertiary institution as at 1 March 2026)
